Daniel I. Nixon is a professional 800-meter runner for Adidas and Atlanta Track Club. He is a recent graduate of Iowa State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Management and his master’s in Financial Planning. Daniel was an All-Academic and All-American student athlete, who excelled in academics, service, and athletics.
Daniel grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and began his undergraduate years at Mississippi State University before transferring to Iowa State University. At MSU he was an honors student, an ambassador for the College of Business, Vice President of The National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and a member of several organizations and honor societies - all while being a top ranked 800m runner. He introduced All of Us Research - a program accelerating individualized health research efforts - to the campus, allowing MSU to be the pilot school to host informative events, in addition to other organizations.
In addition to being a former student athlete, collegiate scholar, and student leader, Daniel is very passionate about his faith, business endeavors, and helping his community. He is a member and leader of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., where he was elected to serve on the Grand Board of Directors. At present, he chairs a professional network and has spearheaded a relief fund rewarding over 400 student scholarships during the pandemic. He was also key in ensuring a partnership with one of the top companies in the world, Amazon. This partnership assisted minorities in achieving their career aspirations through undergraduate internships, professional development webinars, and collaborative opportunities.
Daniel has committed his life to serving Christ and others in numerous ways. He’s interned as a Law Clerk assistant working with attorneys at one of the top law firms in Birmingham, AL. He also spent time working for one of the nation’s top re-entry programs in Alabama, helping participants in the program attain their high school diploma & GED. Daniel is a mentor, active with his church, and a proven leader who is leveraging his interpersonal and professional skills to establish corporate competencies as a foundation to his career success.
